Forever A Rebel

I am a Rebel, inside and out
Loyal, proud, and true.
To all of those who stand beside me
Wearing the gold, white, and blue.

We came together, some as friends
And others we had yet to meet. 
But we work as one, as a team
In winning or in defeat.

They are my teammates and my friends
In the good times and the bad.
Words are forgiven and injuries are healed
No matter what problems we have had.

Loyalty is important to be a friend
No matter what a person may say or do.
We all make mistakes or have bad days
Expect no more from someone else, than what is expected from you.

Pride in ourselves and in others
Each person is important in every way.
Self-esteem and respect is the glue of our team
It is strived for every day.

True to ourselves we must always be
Don't give in to what changes who you are.
Values instilled and qualities God given
Are more important than anything, by far.

While we all do our best and strive to "win"
The word winning is what we must define.
Winning doesn't always mean bringing home the trophy
But maybe just winning within our own minds.

For if winning is the most important thing
As we reach the end of the day.
Then what have we missed or sacrificed
In order to have it go our way.

So cherish your time on the squad
It will be over be before you can tell.
But don't worry when your time in uniform is done
Because in your heart, you will always be a Rebel.

I am proud to be a Rebel, a part of this team
Whether present or in the past.
To have practiced, competed, shared, cried, and laughed
Rebel memories will always last.
